Rolls-Royce 20/25 - hood frame

hood frame folded

The hood and old head lining were set up on a workbench prior to stripping.  A single pivot point was used, rather than two, for ease of handling.  The frame was modified to give better actuation.  The headlining was scrapped as it had always been unsatisfactory.  A new lining was made, to a different pattern, from West of England cloth.

frame hinge

This photographs shows the hinge for the front upright that forms part of the 'B' post behind the door.  The metal bar is attached to the second hood hoop and acts as a guide when the hood is folded or erected.
